I got the red manual wire stripper. Its circular it can be mounted on a table , vise etc. I have had it well over a year . Its great. I could try to buy insulated wire from other scrappers . But with the price drops ive been second guessing myself. Have been thinking about it alot lately though..

    Coppermine model 500 Review

    My feedback on product:

Ordering process: good, email address, make account, paid with CC.

Shipping, order processing: A+ ordered on Monday 11/24/14, received Saturday 11/29/14. Arrived early Mainly because FedEx is running 7 Days a week for the holidays. (Tracking said Monday 12/1/14) Pleasant surprise.

Heavy beast, be there to help the poor FedEx man. comes in 3 boxes and requires assembly. But shipping could not be free if it was assembled. Weighs in at 320lbs, and would require a forklift.

Packaging was good. A few cosmetic dings and scratches, but that's to be expected.

Ease of assembly C+ larger pictures and more detailed instructions would be nice, but not too bad. Bolts for each individual part are zip tied in a bag to the part they belong to, which was very nice. Better than searching for bag "b" that attaches to part "f". (Like you get with particle board furniture for example). Assembly time for me was 1.5 hours, but I'm slow.

First thing I noticed after assembly was the cord is too short! I will most likely replace the power cord with one at least 3X longer. No big deal, I just have enough extension cords running all over the place already. Edit: after reading the operators Manual it says: "Plug into wall outlet directly or use short 10 gauge extension cord." Too long of an extension cord drops the voltage below 120 volts. Ok so my gripe is make the cord at least long enough to reach a chest high outlet.

    Appearance A+ beautiful looking machine!!!

Operation: First thing I noticed is it's loud. Part of that could be the fact that it's only 10 degrees in my shop right now. But it fired right up.

Fed in various sizes of wire, and it stripped like a banshee. Takes a long length of wire and spits it out the other side nicely stripped. Short stuff also. My wire had a few kinks in it, didn't seem to bother the machine at all.

Overall, very happy with product thus far. Works just like in the video only louder.

Unfortunately the only video we have is of our most expensive, industrial, Model 500.

Videos of other products in the works though!

Don't mean to dis your product in any way, but is the price on this a typo?

Coppermine Tools Powered Wire Stripping Machine Motor Up to 2 1 4" OD Wire 430 | eBay

If not what makes this machine so special?

So this is just our way of communicating that an item is out of stock. Ebay's out of stock feature is still new, and in our experience quite buggy, and we want to preserve our listings so instead of ending it we just skyrocket the price.

I see. IMHO you should find another way to communicate that an item is out of stock. For example, this was the first machine that I looked at, and I thought to myself, "these people are out of their minds with pricing!" If you hadn't been a SMF member I would just move on to your competition.

    Just something to think about.
