I suggest you be honest without giving away the farm. I tell people that everything is taken apart and sorted based on the material. They are then sold to a buyer once I have a large enough quantity to ship. The parts contain various metals that can be recovered and used to make new products. There is no need to mention Gold, Silver, or Platinum. You need to sell them on the fact that you are keeping their useless junk out of the landfill and helping the earth.
