    I've been pulling the pins out of the ends of CAT5 connectors for awhile now. They're fairly easy to get out, I just use a flat tip screwdriver or even my fingernails and the pins readily pop out. The shape of the pins can be seen in the following pics.











    CAT 5 connectors have 8 pins each. I counted 900 connectors which gave me a little over 2 oz of gold plated pins. It'll take alot of these to make any kind of weight but you can sit watching your favorite TV show while pulling the pins out. Hope this helps.
