    Just make sure that the tongue of the trailer is long enough because your shortening the turning radius by tucking the hitch up inside. If their too close you might "jackknife" it while backing and put the trailer into the back (fender) of the truck. A little longer spread between truck and trailer gives it a more gradual movement when backing. When you do a correction it's not as extreme.

    For sure! I have to rebuild the trailer tongue altogether going to lengthen it and a-frame it, if you look at the tongue on the trailer now, it is way to short to begin with somebody has repaired it several times and looks like its been shortened a few times in its life....it has a crack in it also so it needs to be replaced already....I was also looking at hitch extenders but dont know if that cuts down on weight load ratings using one of those are not....
