Open the unit, cut and pull the wires and degaus cable,pull the yolk and break the flyback off the board. A CRT monitor and a dishwasher were my first "autopsy" harvest, as I call it. The other day I had nothing to do and saw 2 TVs on the CL freebies, I was going out to troll for scrap anyway so I picked them up. I got home and unloaded them
heavy suckers, and checked the CL again lo and behold the same person, at the same spot posted 2 more TVs. I figured what the heck and ran over and got em. Now I have carcasses, some big and heavy and am looking for a place that will take them..along with other heavy plastics.
I'm calling the trash company and a recycle yard to see if they'll be willing to take them,for free.
I break them down as I have nothing but time on my hands and the copper adds up.
I gutted 3 of them in the yard in about 15 minutes as a storm was bearing down last week. I water spray the yokes and boards of dust or bugs put my glasses on and go to town..
