I drained gas from a '91 Mazda pickup yesterday, it sat for more than 10 years. The gas stank really bad, my friend could smell it from around the block.

I saw the potential , don't worry. Anything that sits for 10 years in a field half sunk in the ground is not usually salvageable. Never thought gas could smell that bad.
