I am the same way, always tell them that as long as the car is complete that the price I offer is the price I will pay, no changing the price once I get there.

I always try to get the ownership but if they don't have it I wright out a receipt and make sure to have there D/L number on it since when I take them in I have to fill out a "no ownership" form with my info.
