I agree that I should have asked about 50 for it - I would have been happier obviously with the overall result.
I like using free shipping, it actually allows me to get a higher overall profit most of the time. It's only a few odd pieces that catch me by surprise.
I did not account for the odd dimensions of this piece. Normally, shipping for something of that weight would only have run about $20. Oh well, live and learn. I was not even sure it would sell. Now I have some info to work with.
With free shipping, fast service and high customer ratings ebay moves you up into the rankings when someone does a search. I sold an old toy the other day that I almost did not list because there were a dozen of them already listed, and some of them were nicer for nearly the same price (within $2). It sold within a couple of days.
I don't mind the ebay fees, they help me sell stuff I normally would have no outlet for. They should make money for that service. I try to make them look good, and in return, they make me look good, while making me money.
