SMF Android App AND Iphone App Update

We've identified the issue with the Android app and wanted to provide a solid update on that, and some other good news.

At the beginning of this year we updated the site to be served securely over HTTPS rather than HTTP. You'll notice the https:// in your address bar at the beginning of the URL, most sites are doing this now. This caused the app to stop working properly, and long story short, as a result of this change we need to make some additional updates so the Android app can properly utilize the new https connection.

We're working on this now and should have this fixed very soon. Thanks to everyone who chimed in to help us identify the problem.

In addition to that, I'm excited to say we'll soon be releasing the official Iphone App for SMF as well!

The issue now is kind of complicated. In order to update the app(s), we have to make some core updates to the forum as well. However, after implementing these required forum updates, other existing features/functions of the forum either won't work properly or may be lost. The Thanks feature, as one example, won't function properly.

So I've just put in another ticket to see what kind of workaround we can come up with. Worst case I may hire someone to customize some things for us to get these apps rolling again without disrupting any other elements of the forum.

I do apologize, it's just a bit more complicated of a task than it seems. Hopefully I'll hear back with a reliable solution in the next couple days.

Me too . but I hope the next time android and iPhone apps upgrade, the developer can updates Android app, after all, the Android phone is worse in terms of data transmission and data management than the iPhone
