    Negative posts insults and karma.

So what is the deal lately with all the negative posts and responses I am reading?

I am seeing a lot of posters getting jumped on for something they say. If you don't like someone's post why not just ignore it? Why inject negativity into the forum?

If I come on here and ask a question, why not either just answer the question, ignore the question, or direct me to a post that has previously answered the question? Why berate me?

The ignore function works very well. If there is someone you dislike you can change your settings to ignore their posts.

If someone is a constant problem the admin will be happy to jump in if you just tell them about it.

The third of the forum rules states: don't insult, bash, or make rude unnecessary posts towards other members for any reason. Please start paying attention to it. I like spending time on this forum and really don't enjoy flaming and negativity.

Agreed on everything you said. When this happens, just use the report button, we frequently delete posts of that type. But remember there's no way we can read every post of every thread at all times that report feature really is handy.

We're not hesitant to address this type of thing. We have put accounts on probation, we have banned accounts, etc for consistent negativity and bringing down 'the vibe'.

I agree wholeheartedly. I certainly understand that people should take the time to read posts and educate themselves, but I also remember when I was new. I often struggled to find what I was looking for and was overwhelmed by the volume of information on this site. A kind word of direction goes a long way to helping someone, which will eventually increase the number of people contributing here. It is frustrating to have to reply to newbies over and over in saying "read the forum first", but remember this is usually their first time hearing it. Showing a little more grace, even to more experienced people, would be helpful. If you are moody after a bad day (we've all been there), maybe it would be wise to govern yourself and resist the urge to reply.

I can appreciate what your saying Burly but also know after being in the restaurant biz for quite some time, then in the construction biz for twenty some years and now a scrapper that is losing his filter the older he gets...sometimes things just have to be said.

The truth isn't necessarily negative, it's just that, the truth.

I agree Burly. I learned a long time ago, that life is to short to sweat the small things. I for the most part, just let it roll right over my shoulder. Everyone has an opinion and will share it regardless of what others think.

Doesn't it work both ways though?

Why post negative, baiting, insulting posts in the first place?
