    Hello from Seattle

Small truck part time non ferrous scrapper from Seattle WA. Have run a street cleanup past 5 years removed over 3 tons of trash from a street next to the highway. Just started recycling last year from our cleanups. Find allot of furniture TVs computers appliances car parts and cans.

Cashing in aluminum cans .62lb stainless .72lb aluminum cast .58lb batteries .50lb Don't know if these are good prices just happy to make a couple bucks. I spent most of the 80s and 90s in Alaska commercial fishing so not afraid of hard work getting dirty or power tools. Have a couple of Sea stories to tell. Have allot to learn about scrapping and happy to have found this forum. I'm interested in scrapping boats and electronics.

Thanks for the welcome glad to be here. Worked on a freighter in early 90s that supplied western Alaska and our cook was named Hooker who liked to sportfish halibut. The story Hooker told was the year before he was out west in the Aleutians a bay called Unatalik fishing out of a small skiff. Hooker caught a halibut and when he reeled it in it was longer than the skiff and not cooperating. Hooker took out his 45 and shot several rounds in the halibut's head. This fish would have been a world record sport caught halibut until he added lead as it was over 420lbs and the size of a garage door. Hooker was able to tow the fish over to an anchored fish processing vessel and they used their crane to haul it aboard. A picture of Hooker and the halibut made the front page of a Seattle newspaper.
