Another new guy... but a little different

Just wanted to introduce myself to this forum as I've been researching and reading up on many of the posts on here for the past couple months.

I am very new to scrapping but am here as a business man hoping to learn as much as I can.

A little about myself. Located in VA and I've been in the construction industry for about 8 years as an operations manager for a large vinyl window manufacturing company and construction company focusing on external coverings (siding, roofing, gutters, etc.). With the new housing market coming to a screeching halt in the DC metropolitan area, we have decided to look for other business ventures... Scrap!

The number one asset that we have currently is our warehouse space and location. We are correctly zoned and have tons of space. We decided that trying to enter the scrap business would be a great opportunity. So I'm here to learn!

I'm like a sponge soaking in anything and everything...

    Regards!

Welcome aboard, you will find all the information you will need right here. If you have the space available, you may want to look into being a transfer station. Let people bring the scrap to you.

Actually that Is what we are planning to do. Not so much a scrap yard but more of a "garage." Legally in Virginia, it is referred to as a scrap collector.

Right now we're going through the process of obtaining our occupancy permit and our business licenses...

Got a nice sized warehouse that we'd love to begin filling with all sorts of other peoples junk!
