LCD TV's

First I am most likely stupid because I keep putting lcd tv in the search and get nothing. I have read threads on LCD TV's but can't find them. So to my question: someone has two 36" lcd tv's that are broken and wants to sell them. I remember that often it is a capacitor that is blown that causes them to stop working. So how much would be reasonalble to offer for these two tv's?

Miked, it might be that any words put into the search box have to be over 3 letters in length, I've run into that before

search craigslist for people buying them for parts repair. Also call local tv repair shops. If the screen is not cracked i can usually get about 50 out of them depending on make and model. See what you can get and price accordingly

I pay around $1 to $1.30 per inch of flat screen tv as long as its not cracked and its a name brand. It works out well for me.

What do you do with them? So for a 60 inch, you would pay about $60?

Something like that as long as it still looks good. If I see damage the number starts to go down. But I repair them, not all can be repaired and thats where you part them out and or sell them as a whole unit to a TV repair shop.

Never thought about trying to sell any to a tv repair shop. Depending on make and model, wouldn't be such a bad idea though. Or like you said, if it is free or very inexpensive, just resell it straight out.

Thing is...a flat screen tv someone some where wants it...and will buy it...broken or not...screen cracked or not.

The big thing is networking and finding the repair shops that want to buy them to repair and sell them in there job and or scrap them out for parts that they need. But you have a few option with a flat screen tv and so its all ways worth buying and stacking up. Post ads on CL ever now and then hosting a sale for best offers on alot of blank items.

I save up a good list of items and then just sell them...I get alot of buyers who come out...alot of buyers who give me there cards and so when I get something up there ally I just give them a call. Its a win win...

P.s go to actions and find out who is bidding on what....then after the auction go up and talk to them..tell them what you have..you know they have money as they just paid blank at auction...and they will buy your things as well.

just sooo many options and tricks that I know...but just keep in mind....someone wants it...and will buy it...you just have to find them.

Ive said it before...

Its because people title the thread like "what a good day" but in it are 45 posts about LCD TV's, where to get em , what to look for, etc etc etc...

But the search will NEVER find it....

I elaborated pretty well I think there and one must now show all the tricks of the trade. but in short use your head...and if you have it..buyers will come.

Just make sure EVERYONE knows WHAT you have because they may know someone and or talking about the guy who has 10 LCD TVs stacked up and someone will just show up one day and buy all of them =)

if you have room to store them out of the wheater post on craigslist. If it powers on but screen is cracked you can sell the boards on ebay by searching part # on board as well as tv model. Some of these things sell quite well. If you have good connections with pc repair shops you may be able to have repaired fairly cheap. My one shop does cap replacement for 10 dollars as long as can be done in his spare time and in no immediate rush..

I found a TV/LCD repair shop that gave me $30 for 46" LCD that was cracked. My neighboring renters in apt were evicted and left there junk.
Since, I scrap electronics I help property managment scrap some metal stuff and LCD flat screen. The owner of repair shop sells parts. He gave me some money
for the LCD. Easy $30 for me.

I googled "LCD tvs scrapmetalforum" and found a thread, don't know if it's the one you you want. Sorry but I don't know how to get a thread address and put it on here.

Thank you Scrapette I remember someone else advised to do the same thing: goole with scrapmetalforum after. I tried something like that but failed to pull it off. Since your entry I tried it out and it worked well so I should be able to do it in the future. There's so much information on is site that a good way to do a search is welcome. Mike.
