    What a joke.

Went to the yard today with some cans. I never go to this yard cuz they rip everyone off. But today they gave a decent price for cans. Took my 4 batteries in and only got 4 dollars! Never again! I asked what they paid for electric motors and the guy says "I'll give you a dollar each".....HAHAHAHA keep dreaming.

Were these automotive-type batteries? At the LOWEST point, I've never been under $3.50 in more than three years and that's for me coming to you to pick them up.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Yes they were car batteries. They usually are crooks here.. My problem that I always have is I never look at the price I got till I am driving.....I have gotten better. but....man I gotta stop that. This yard was sold a couple of years ago and the prices have definitely gotten worse. And business has slowed waaaay down for them. I bet they resell soon.

I wouldn't be back. I just called and checked prices yesterday. Batteries were 0.18/lb or $6.20 for the average car/Lt trk battery.

Might be a good idea to put all the scrap yards in your cell phone, then when you are ready to haul some stuff in, give each a jingle to see what they're paying.

My last load I took in all the batteries I had lying around. I got 10.00 for car batteries, 8.00 for lawnmower, 5.00 for one of the motercycle batteries and 2.00 for the rest of motorcycle and dirt-bike batteries.

This one yard here near orlando had a sign on the scale Once it.s on the scale it's ours. Then go to the pay window around the corner where they give you the bad news. The price they pay. Then try to get it back cause it was too low. extruded dirty etc. Then the scale guy get real mad and says he already dumped it. I don't think he works there anymore.

I would think you could sell used batteries as cores for $10 each. Like on CL.

im lucky that i have 7 scrap yards all within about a 10 minute drive of me, well kind of. i have the 3 that i deal with stored in my phone and if i have a big load i call and see what they are paying. having the amount of yards we have here makes it hard getting in with companies though, how can i compete with the guys im selling to when it comes to getting stuff? lol.

Here in Indiana, I have a core-buyer who pays for batteries by weight. Last one I took in- it was .81/lb So I ended up with $12.54, earlier in the fall prices were up and I got $17.64 for a battery out of a Chevy Malibu.

You should have handed him the smallest transformer you could find and asked for a dollar.
