    E waste recycling

Has anyone tried recycling e waste? Been looking around for a place to buy circuit boards but most want only computers boards and 5,000 lbs worth in one shipment. I did find one place that will work with me when I get 500 lbs and they will take all circuit boards from computers to VCR's. Figured I would try it and see if it works out. Just have to pay for shipping and sit on it until the goal is met. Hoping a bunch of these boards have good platinum and gold on them. That is the big pay out, but I will take as much of anything they can pull due to being more precious type metals.

I've done a lot of research into this. I can't find anyone around here that will buy them. There is VERY little gold in COmputer chips. They are fine micro strands and require very hazardous and expensive acid to remove. Definitly a money loser on a small scale. That is why they only want large amounts. I have seen people selling piles of just the chips on ebay for this purpose and get a decent amount of money.

    Re: E waste recycling

Surprisingly I got a call yesterday from a fella who asked if I wanted a bunch of TV's. I said I would have to pass on it, but he also mentioned that he recycles ewase, and told me prices he would pay for motherboards, hard drives, etc. I told him I would keep his number, keep those items if I found any CPU's until I had enough worth selling him, then give him a call.
