Ok, I'm severely confused. Need some help

    Ok, I'm severely confused. Need some help

    The little boards with the the gold pins under the huge alum heat sink. They are about 2in x 2in and have a 1/4 plate sealed to them. What are they?

    That is the CPU aka central processing unit.

    Thank you. I get so confused with e-scrap as I am fairly new to this side of the recycling business. So much to learn and so little time.

    That would be awesome. I have the same issue, what is what, and what are the better parts to scrap (other than the gold fingers, which I clip and put into a jar).
    Wayne, only do that if you have a buyer that will buy all your boards that you are clipping. I don't think Easy will buy them that way.

    Boardsort has a price per pound for trimmed fingers. Also has a price for trimmed boards.

    There is still a lot of confusion about what all is on a typical motherboard and I found this breakdown that might help explain some of it. Hope this helps,,,
