    spin picked some telecom today

Picked up Five Lucent telecom bays today: 7 ft tall & 3 ft wide
Steel frames, aluminum cages, wire and backplanes
2 steel telecom racks: mostly steel & some wire: super heavy
    4 boxes of misc wire
    Pics to follow
We use a couple of battery powered impact wrenches to break them down
Picked them up when it was 91 degrees and 2 million % humidity

I combined that pickup with a trip to the scrapyard:
    3 Gaylords of aluminum
    2 Gaylords of tin
    1 Gaylord of wire
Misc buckets of motors, copper bearing, brass, #2 copper & stainless

One really cool thing when you show up in a box truck with loaded with Gaylords of stuff: they unload for you with a forklift and weigh you in first!
I had to get the manager of the yard out on the floor: While most of the guys are good to me, the guy on the scale was a jerk. Both the yard & shop bosses apologized and bumped the wire price for me.

Congrats on your load. As far as the scale guy, we have one as well. He removes himself from the scale as soon as he sees my truck and trailer. Unspoken rule. When you are a regular and dependable, the yard will compensate you.

That sounds similiar to the one I scrapped recently. Once the outer plastic was removed there was what looked like an aluminum cage. 200 pounds of aluminum. I hope it was full of cards. We need some pics!

    nice score!

You should get the manager's card and give him a call next time you are planning to bring stuff in. You would be surprised what happens to pricing when you tell the manager you are loading a couple thousand lbs of nonferrous into your truck.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

I guess theft is so bad around here when I call to ask prices on large amount of non-ferrous they want proof of ownership and documentation etc..........LOL......I just laugh at them as they don't understand all my scrap comes from old electronics nobody would want anyways........I just drop off smaller loads here and there as I run my daily errands to stay under the radar....LOL.......I could give the state $175 for a dealers license but why?????.......I just wait 5 days on all copper and I get a check in the mail.........I usually have to wait at least that long on e-waste checks so what's the difference..........I'll get off my soap box now
