Floppy drive boards

So I have been reading a lot of posts on these boards and noticed various pricing. I started processing thousands of them that had just been gathering. Although there are many types all the boards are pretty much the same size. It takes approx 35 boards for 1lb. I seen someone had a pricing for $4lb. With the board being so small and heavily populated with full gold pins and silver solder one would think it would be higher in value.

Some people say you can sell them on Ebay but I haven't tried it - the whole drives that is.

i just cant see anyone paying motherboard pricing for floppy drive boards, who is offering that pricing? i know cd rom boards sell at motherboard pricing, maybe that is what you are thinking of?

Ok here goes, the floppy drive boards and cd/dvd drive boards have 34 gold plated pins from ide connection. Floppy boards are much smaller than cd or dvd boards so on a per lb basis you would think you can get more silver and gold out of the floppy boards than cd/dvd boards right? Which are priced between $3.75/lb to $4.15lb.

cd/dvd boards are a higher grade, and have more than just gold pins.
floppy boards are low grade boards with gold pins attached
If you look at them side by side you will see a major difference

Just weighed up some full size cd drive boards 5 to make 1lb, vs 35 floppy boards to make 1 lb. So is the gold plating on pins of floppy's worth less?

the pins are worth a lot more than the floppy board, sell the pins separate. on the cd/dvd boards the pins and the boards are worth about the same, so leave them on

Ok thanks for the help. Do the pins off of these boards fall into the $50/lb range or $100/lb. I know it varies greatly just want to get a ballpark figure on these paticular pins.
