    average server breakdown price

Whats the average breakdown price on servers? I'm talking like blades, etc. I got like 40 now as we speak. But all missing memory and hard drives. Rest is there. So trying to figure out to ebay or shred. If shred obviously save the boards if good for resale. But need opinions. Thanks

Im talking servers like these, but lower end.

no such thing as an average scrap value on a server. ya rolls your dice and ya takes your chances.

I pay .42 per lbs for servers completely intact. Price drops considerably for missing HDDs. The Hard drives are what demands a higher price for loaded servers. If they are missing them AND ram.. all you are really getting are some valuable boards, metal casing and wire.

Like I said in the avg price for tower thread, break down one and weigh all the parts and time yourself. It also depends on the prices you get for your reclaimed materials. We all have different prices.

Impossible to give an average price. There are way too many variables, size, configuration, how complete, how old, etc. I have scrapped hundreds of them, and weiged the recovered materials on many. Scrap values ranged from $10 up to $125 each on the larger servers.

He said a single blade server....Which I interpret as about 6" or less. The biggest determining factor on price is going to be if it has solid copper heat sinks or not. If not go with my $15 price.

So a breakdown on this, it would be reasonable to assume I could recover roughly 200, plus whatever I could get from the rack? Looks like 14 individual units in there, at 15 apiece.

I got a couple hp servers last week that had 40 sticks of ram each those fat sticks that are twice as wide as a normal stick just around 2.75 pounds so I guess you never know. 37.00 of ram in each.
