    Server Processor

I have a question about a server processor I got a while ago. I do have pictures of it, just can't post them at the moment. Photobucket is down for maintenance. The thing looks like a PCI card with a heat sink and fan on it. I will post the pictures as soon as I can.

Here are the pictures. Also I am pretty sure it is not a pentium 2 or 3. I do have a couple of those and this looks totally different.

ahhh yeah, picture's worth a thousand words. Still not sure tho, unless you know what it came out of, or can google the names and numbers off of it till you find a match. that 8-16-00, I wonder if that's the date, if so, by some remarks I've read, prior to around 2002 the gold contents was much higher than it was after

I don't really remember what I took it out of. I just knew to save it. I will have to look up the numbers if I can read them yet.

i see alot of tantalum caps that should be pulled before selling it as a slot cpu, assuming it dosent have any resale value, the heatsink and plastic needs to be removed also

pull the heatsink and post a picture of the cpu, curious what it looks like

    Here are the pictures..

Sorry the pictures are so big. New to photobucket and posting pictures this way. I did Google 'IBM93 09K4330'.....No results. One link to an ebay and that was for IBM pinwheel cartridges. Curious about the gold amount. The last picture may contain gold in the plastic piece but I am unsure. The processor is pinless.

I just ran the '09k4330' portion of the info on the chip and came up with:
    IBM*-*POWER and PPC*-*POWER*-*IBM POWER3 II 333 MHz 09K4330 - chipdb.org

Looks like an IBM power CPU (bigger and more expensive G5), and the interface reminds me of those processor cards used back in the Apple PPC G4 days.
