Where to find scrap silver in circut boards/electronics?

Hello everyone, I am looking for scrap silver. I already pulled the relay boxes off the few tv circut boards I have and unfortunatly none have the silver contacts that that moose scrapper guy from you tube showed off in the video. I know about the light switches as well, but where else? is there anywhere else??? In a Microwave, is that a possibility? I am waiting for that finn thing to uncharge so I can open it up for the magnets, what about the rest of the stuff inside, I saved it all. Thanks for any help in advance.

I had a thread about silver once upon a time, can't remember the name of it, but it had some good clues towards the end

There are some cautions about silver in various electrical components. As I recall the silver is with another chemical that is in a compound or mixture with the silver that makes it very hazardous to refine. Please that the time to do proper research before you heat it or attempt to refine it.

Consider buying a silver test kit from ebay to help you be certain what your are getting. Mike

    Uh, oh....

The silver contacts will have silver, but just as a coating on the contact surface. Just sort them aside from the solid silver & the magnetic contacts in the relays. They do contain cadnium, so don't melt them.

The large fin thing is the magnetron. Its got pink/white ceramic ends on it, they are dangerous if you break one amd or come in skin/inhaling contact with it. Theres no power inside it. But there is a very small radioactive coating inside one end.
The best thing to do with them is wrap it in plastic & put it in the rubbish. Its pretty inert as it is.

Theres a relay on the microwave ovens board & theres contacts inside the switches inside there too. So, 9+ contacts..... Silver & silver/copper.

Most of the recoverable silver is in the contacts. There are a lot of components that are often silver plated which is difficult to recover on a small scale - fuse holders, slide switch contacts, etc. I'm not sure if the small silver discs in push buttons are plated or not.

Think of silver plate flatware - the actual value of the item is primarily the metal under the plate. One of the discussed problems with diminishing silver stocks is that although silver is widely used in electronics, much of it is not really economically recoverable.
