Of course the standard answer is you'll have to ask your buyer. But, when I find some nice pieces like this, I put them in a separate pile to save for later. I plan on sending pics and weights for a high grade board sale at some point.
If you do clip the solid plated pieces off, I don't think you should just lump them in with fingers as the buyer has a specific known gold recovery ratio for fingers. Some buyers will have a solid plated board price by the square inch (maybe even with plating thickness also, but what a pain to measure).
I,don't cut fingers or strip my higher end boards , what your making in profit from the fingers is usually lost in devaluing the board itself . Take finger cards as a example . You see $40+ for a pound of trimmings . That sounds great right . Well the leftover board is now worth 1/4 what it was . I would do a proper analysis using 100 lbs of finger cards to start . But I don't like losing money .
There are other gold components that you can accumulate without devaluing your boards . I.e. Ribbon wire ends
Buying ewaste and video games !
well I am planning on selling them on ebay.
so instead of selling them as is , your devaluing the board , spending time trimming , listing and then giving ebay %18 of the sale .
I hope it works out for you but I it seems like this is a lot of work for less money . To answer your original question , I would keep everything seperate and include in your auction description exact weights of each pile and what that pile contains .
so what do you do with the leftover board ?
sell those to.
So how much more do you think your making ? Or are you just ripping up boards in a attempt at selling them on eBay ? Have you ever sold these lots before ? Please explain yourself and your decision making so others can get a idea about what your doing and what your trying to accomplish .
You might want to check out the buyers section here and look at what they are paying for gold finger boards, trimmed/devalued gold finger boards and gold fingers.
Just saying.
