We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

    Oh, the white space!

Seriously, I've cringed many times at what I've seen in the recycling bins. Someone left a 27" iMac. It was a saddening sight to see it there.

Rare Apple computer worth $200,000 left at recycling center - KATV - Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

MILPITAS, Calif. (WABC) -- A woman dropped off what she thought was boxes of junk, but among the items was a rare, vintage Apple computer, worth $200,000!

The computer is one of just 200 first generation desktops assembled by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ron Wayne in 1976.

The recycling company in Northern California sold it to a private collector for 200 grand. It is now trying to track down its original owner, so it can split the proceeds with her.

The woman did not leave her name or contact information, but a man who works at the recycling center says all they need to identify her is to see her again.

this is a great lesson to ALL of us who deal in ewaste....ALWAYS ALWAYS stive to learn more about items. MAKE sure you know what you are looking at and check things you don't. You never know what will show up and can even be sold for non working or parts.

I have been around computers for a long time, BUT there are plenty of things I always find myself learning about.
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell

Now, I can see the link

Over a $200k computer- wow! I'm amazed that someone at the recycling center knew what it was, and didn't just say "High Grade"
