I personally don't devalue motherboards; I send them in whole.

I remove the heatsinks, ram, cpu's and any metal brackets and that's it.
So here's that thing...pulling it off makes it copper bearing (WAY WAY less than MB pricing), even unwound they would be #2 copper at best, again below MB pricing. That is what I always look at (factoring in the time to pull it or whatever as that is a "cost"). I pull nothing form the MB unless it absolutely has to come off...or is worth way more (ie some tantalum).
