    slotket CPU

Interesting find today while dismantling a bunch of desktops. I've never seen one of these before. It was basically a Socket 370 (Pentium III chip) on a card that went into a Slot 1 motherboard. Wondering how common these where. I'll try to post a photo in the next day or two.

Did some research and found out that they had these for Socket 8 chips (Pentium Pro) also.

Sounds like you found one of those boards that was in that "on the verge" crossovers.
I've pulled up many boards in Compaq Servers (Proliants) that I have a Pentium Pro Board, and the information out there on the interweb is like "Proliant blah blah blah" with a Pentium 3.. I'm like "No no no.. not crappy Pentium 3.. Pentium GOLDEN Delicious Pro!!"

I didn't take a photo at the shop today. Not sure I'll be there tomorrow. And I suck at getting photos to post on SMF

I have never seen a Slotkets.
Never seen a slot processor card WITH a socket on it and a CPU like that- VERY cool find!

And here I thought ""slotket"" was a typo....

I heard these existed but I hadn't seen one. I was told about "slockets" and I kind of assumed someone was making a mistake in describing it. I will be on the lookout for them.

    Thanks!

I found one from a desktop I picked up from a thrift store. I also got a really old server on wheels that had a huge motherboard inside and a foot long slot card with two black fiber CPUs on it. Great addition to my collection! I may post a picture sometime soon if I can remember to do it!
