Got this from an IBM from 1996 and about to do the same to a dell of that age.
Would you break any of this down or sell it as is?

You'll do best if you take the heatsink and CPU off the motherboard and if it comes off easy, the transformer off the peripheral board. Some folks prefer to depopulate the boards further of IC chips and such.
That ISA / PCI slot card might be rare, and worth a couple bucks on Ebay .
Without part numbers I can not look anything up
Hey here's a pic with what I think you might need to f8nd out if it's good or not. I don't eBay so I'm clueless

Remove the battery, top left, the 4 sticks of memory, bottom right and the heat sink. I'd like to see what kind of processor it has.
You might want to check prices on whole working computers before pulling all of the cards out.

I found three for sale for about $40 and they weren't sell g so.... And I don't have the room for them not broken down also
Selling valuable computer parts makes a lot more money than destroying them for scrap. Online selling can be a big part of a tech scrapper's income !
Doing a simple Google search yields many useful links to getting started on Ebay, how to properly list, designing your listing for maximum effect, and how to do shipping. There is even many great guides on how to price items to sell .
That one ISA / PCI expansion slot card may ( or may not ) be worth over $30 on Ebay. You will have to research the card type, and the part numbers .
if u do strip it, take pics of the boards and share with us
I know this does not pertain to the thread , but i did a search for scrap computer parts for cash on this site. This was one of the links that came up. EARTHER are you a buyer? I live in Elk co. Pennsylvania and i have like 20 computer, some laptops, board, memory, other stuff as well. would like to sell. If your not a buyer, could you direct me to some buyers or scrap yards in are area that i could sell to. Thank you in advance. Butch
I'm a buyer at prices that would cost you more to ship it then I would pay for it but may I suggest that you look up e wasted or some of our other great buyers here 9n the forum. I would l9ve to buy what you have but I would need it so cheap it's not worth it for you as I would be selling it to the same people here as you can with full profit from it without me taking a cut.
I hope everyone here enjoyed my longest run on sentence of the day so far.
Seriously been running non stop for far to long. Like months. Wake up start doing something that makes money and continue until I fall asleep with a tool in hand and wake up four hours later give or take and repeat.
My brain hardly is considered in operating condition I would say.
not healthy at all.
the reason, well one of the reasons we do scrap it that it gives us INDEPENDENCE
not having to work fixed hours
be your own boss
if u decide u dont want to work today- then dont work
and even if its midnight and u decide to clean scrap- u can do it
if u want to work just 2-3 hours daily
or even 4 days a week
whatever- u can do it
so it seems you are defeating the purpose.
my understanding is that u just need to live a simple life- thats they key to it all.
no need to be like many others- always wanting more so they kill themselves working hard to earn enough to get it
and then by the time they get that item, theres something new that catches their attention....and the cycle continues.
hell, we make a living off this attitude of theirs bcos theyre always throwing stuff out to make way for new things.
Keep reading the old threads where you will learn what others have done, what worked for them and what did not. Each of us have very different and yet similar situations so by reading the old threads you are exposed to more experience than you can get anywhere else outside of this forum.
Normally I suggest you read until you know what and how far you want to break down ewaste. Save the broken down boards, sell the steel, Al, SS, brass, Cu, and wire locally. Once you have as much ewaste you can handle storage wise chose one of the buyers on the forum. Make certain the buyer a current member and has recent feedback. Contact them via their prefered method. Some have web sites other prefer email and find out what they require of you.
It's easy if you take your time and read the old threads. 73, mike
