So I could do the whole eBay thing and sell a lot of these more rare boards and pieces on it for a hefty profit seeing as on average on finding $30 worth of boards and such in each old tower I get.
Now these are old boards from tested computers and thus aren't likely to lose value due to age like new stuff does. If anything it's likely to gain value.
I don't have time for another big site to sell from. I can hardly keep up with Etsy for my furniture and weird stuff I sell their then my multiple local sites and apps I sell anything that could sell here on.
On top of that part I bust my ass scrapping and creating furniture and whatever makes me cash.

I have 40 huge aluminum 1000 watt hps lights from park8ng lot lamp posts I just bought and have to break down in their fenced in area. I get like six hours Max m-f to do it and that's around all the other scores I bet that are time sensitive.

You see I do t have time.

Would anyone be interested in discussing a fair retail price on my items in semi bulk lits then I sell them for half of that and I pay shipping to you?

Or what would work.



Tell me what to do. If it's to much trouble I'll sit on them until the day comes if it comes I have the time to deal with them.

Ebay is a tricky thing. Just because another listing sold for $xxx.xx doesn't mean that yours will too. Then there is the time factor. Many of my items that I have seen sell for more than I was asking, have now just been sitting there for months even after lowering prices and changing formats.

There was a time back in the 90's when eBay consignment shops were popping up everywhere. How many do you see today in your area? There has to be a reason for that. Ebay is a lot of work and can be very unpredictable. Others have asked me to sell for them and for these reasons, I always say no. If you want the big payout, you have to be willing to do the work. Good luck in all of your endeavors.

I'm a heavy Ebayer.... not for scrap but a niche market of Construction Equipment models.... yeah whodathunk it. Long story short, Ebay is a patient mans game. Sometimes you can get a quick sale if you price it right. If you DON'T have the time... Ebay is probably not for you. You need to study and research. There are good selling time with Ebay and bad. Late August early September has SUCKED for me....lol Holiday weekends are a hit and miss. Your product, description, price and just as importantly your professionalism and prompt shipping will help your sales and future sales.

Enroll and get an ebay user ID. Enroll and get a paypal account. Buy a few small items and leave and get feed back to make sure Paypal and ebay are linked properly. Sell an item. Sell another item. Learn how to list and sell and ship. Sell another item. Do it until you are comfortable to sell the bigger ticket items you have.

If you are looking for someone here to take your crap off your hands on the chance they will be able to make a buck on ebay, there ain't enough there to pay the shipping to one of us and then pay the ebay cost and the Paypal cost and the shipping cost for us to send it to them.

If you are planning to do ebay do a lot of research into the market you intend to sell in. Descriptions and good pictures are also key. Look at other peoples' listings and see how they do it. It is very very important to also understand that an item often times won't sell for what it is worth. Ebay can be a rough market when it comes to supply and demand. Large supply with low demand drives prices down and competition is fierce.

You guys are a great help. I try to sell my items for about half of what the average price is and this can be bad because people think something is wrong with it when in fact I got it for either free or close to it.
Speaking of big ticket items I just scored a Compaq lte/286 laptop in its original box with all the original paper work binder and all receipts for any work done to it and such. I believe they where made in 1989 and 1990 not totally positive though.

Edit, no **** power cord WTF???? But the battery is 4.8/5 volt with large external terminals. Now to USB charge the battery and see what happened or straight USB 5v charging cord directly to the terminals on the laptop. Hmmmm.

Don't forget to budget for ebay fees, paypal fees, and especially shipping costs. Expect that to take half of your sale price. Maybe less if you're selling high value items ($150+), maybe more if you're selling low value items ($20).

Frinstance: You're selling something for $20. Ebay takes $2. Paypal takes a buck. You ship it in a medium flat rate box. That's $13.60. So, congratulations... you netted $3.40 on your sale.

I'm not trying to talk you out of it. I sell on ebay, and I find it a vital part of my scrapping/auction hunting activity. Just today I made a sale of a lot of three 12/24 relays that I'd basically have thrown away without ebay. The lot sold for 45, ebay takes $4.50, paypal took $1.61, and it'll ship in a small flat rate at $7.15. That's $31.74 in the pocket off of three items that might net 3 cents in scrap.

Go into it with realistic expectations, price things wisely, learn the cheapest shipping methods, and plan for all the expenses. I'm not gonna get rich off of ebay, but it's pretty good for getting extra $$ for some items.

I usually keep 800-1k item listed online at all times b/w eBay and Amazon. A.k.a. "the bay" and "the river".

And I will reiterate that, with all of the USPS shipping increases which seem bi-annual nowadays, Shipping price is crucial.
Flat rate envelopes (regular and padded) and Regional Rate boxes (A&B), will become your best friends.

Note: Regional rate A & B boxes must be ordered through the USPS website and are completely free delivered right to your house.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned here is the menus on the left side of the screen, near the bottom, is a "show only" frame. In there is two buttons (among others), one is "sold items" and the other is "completed listings". Do a search for what you have and look at the completed listings. That will let you know if what you have sells and a ballpark price. If you just look at sold listings, you will just see the 25 things that sold and not the 8 billion that didn't. You will also be able to see the listings that sold for the most and why and perhaps plagerize their listings for a better sale price.
