    Talking Board Sorting

I would like to request the help of our well seasoned scrappers in sorting of boards and can you post it with pics. I have a yard full of boards from TV's Stereos, Cable Boxes, Direct TV Boxes etc. I know there have been many topics on this subject and maybe it won't be so confusing.
Thanks guys. Us newbs sure appreciate the advice I know I sure do.

BroJer thanks for your response and I have read Sticky Thread Sticky: component identification and how does that help with board sorting. But if you have read the other posts in this section for some of us it gets a little confusing on how. Out of the many electronics some out of one item can be one thing and then not be.

You may not need to sort, it all depends on your buyer. The only thing I sort is low grade boards and brown boards, since those don't seem to be alot of debate on what they are. I was little confused about this at the beginning also. But I asked my buyer and was told to just bring them in and they would sort. Good luck. Anymore questions just PM me. I will be happy to help

My buyer sorts too...but I like to have an idea of what I'm holding before I sell. But that's just me!

I just weigh all my boards, and do an avg price. Except for RAM, battery's, and Cell phones. But your right it is better to have a good grasp on what your taking in

I have the same problem. Its number one reason I'm here. I have multiple boards. Telecom i think . I ask for identity help and am just told what is your weight and quantity? Really last step first? To identify means learning and more happy scrappers. I'm frustrated. This is not user friendly. Im sitting on mounds. We need a library of boards. I'm a free business. Help is my way. Spreading love and knowledge. Cleaning up the cities homes and more. A board Catalog. Ijs it would be immensely appreciated.Confused and discourged .Baltimore blues.

It's not easy because every buyer grades different, so it's hard for everyone to answer you.

My answer will be different then a buyer's will be. Sorry if that's not the answer you want, but it's the one your going to get from the majority of us.

    Good luck

Yep! They all grade differently. Eventually, I just sorted to the best of my abilities, contacted a buyer, took pictures of what I had and he quoted me prices based on the pictures I showed him.

Likewise. It's not that it's a secret, but every buyer is different. My buyer may grade boards different then my other buyer ( an he does).

So really, I'm not lying here...it's not a big secret, it's just different buyers grade things different.

Anyone have a soft wall I can borrow? My head is starting to hurt.

Sirscrapalot - Keeper of the board grading secrets, an really knows who shot JFK an knows the truth on Nessie. Look for the book soon...
