Do you have any experience at all?
Very little. I know some people who scrap every now and again but I'd like to talk to regulars about it.
honestly if you just look around for even 10 minutes on this forum youll learn more then if you scrapped for 6 months trust me just take the time to look theres no golden piece of advice someone can just give you thatll make you successful but looking around a little here will make you that much more informed.
Ill give you the golden advice. Read every forum on this website and you will no more than you did before you read it. Ive done it and it took days. But I know alot more now than I ever did. 8 Months ago I never scrapped a day in my life. Now I have a website and started my own business. Most of everything about scrap I learned here.

I gathered that pile in my profile pic a little over a year ago during spring clean-up then started reading here. If turned in as shred or scrap steel would have been a couple hundred bucks...broken down it turned into about $800 thanks to this forum. If you don't like reading then just take the $200.

That's really a good analogy, Mike. Being new and coming on this forum is like running into Santa Claus. I wish it'd been here when I started. I could have saved myself a lot of time and money. Still learned(ing) a lot.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
I doubled my money on my last load tot he yard by reading this forum. I found buyers paying more that the vendors I designed my business around by reading this forum...there is a lot to learn here. Pick an area that interests you and start reading...in the meantime start collecting items to sell, then read about those items here to figure out how to sell them!
I really haven't found anything in the "Scrap room" section that I didn't already know..but upgraded using the money I made right here on this forum from one of my first few posts....(Thanks for pushing me to test the laser scanners folks!)..it was my way of giving back!
There is a lot of information here, and a lot of people willing to do a little hand holding...but you have to figure out the basics on your own, and THEN ask the hard questions....
