My first shipment and i've been had!!

Ok here is the scinario. My first big score 172 17''+ monitors. I sent these out to a buyer from this forum (not gonna mention who yet). The pallet arrived to the buyers facility damaged. They sent me pics and said they were going to hold the shipper responsibel for the damage. Now that being said I thought it would just be a little while to get the settlement done. Few weeks go by and no news so, I call the trucking company and they tell me that there has been no paperwork filed. (REALLY!!!) The buyer TMG tells me that they reported it damaged but I have the paperwork where they signed off as recieved in good standing. Jumping foreward it's been 100+ days now and I have not recived a penny. Out of frustration I asked the buyer to sort my material and let me know the ammount of what tested good and what was damaged. Still no response. Guys and Gals I'm just pissed at this point and would like any and all advice you can give me. Please

I love to scrap love it but I also like to get paid......... These fellas well I wish they were close enough for me to take a drive to

You should have read the reviews on TMG. Not to many good ones and a lot of what you mentioned. I sent them some memory in the beginning and the results were less than stellar. Quantities didn't match. Was not paid the then current price. Had questions about the up to 10 percent bad that was supposed to be paid as good, etc.
Good luck getting anywhere with these clowns.

I think all of his posts have been removed. He was the only bad buyer I've used.

I've heard bad things too. Depending on the amount and the fact that they signed them as being "Recieved without damages" (Assuming they did), maybe a small claims court issue would be a good path depending on circumstances?

This might be a good place for me to add that if any of you out there (regulars and silent guests) have been "hosed" by a buyer then right at the top of the page under the SMF name is a button that is labeled "support". Click that button and open up your own support ticket so things can be tracked and the info you add can go straight to Admin without airing it on the general forum. Thank you for letting me kind of derail the thread.

over time, like anything...once the trend gets noticed about a particular industry the night fliers are quick to come through. They scavenge and run before anything ever gets a chance to stick to them. I'm seeing it in my area with the used cell phone repairs and dealers. Purposely telling customers their phone is unrepairable and then flipping it immediately. 25 bucks for a note 2 or an s4...yea right...ok. Point is, buyer beware...don't get so excited about great prices...it will often burn you.

My first shipment and i've been had!!

Good point there. I had a buyer who was great and offered prices beer than this forum for 6 months. But when gold dropped, he said his refiner bounced a check on him.
Lost 360 on that. Some buyers here are good on their word even at their loss. trying a newer buyer is a gamble. most of the time I've done well, but I have lost sometimes.

Agreed- mot more than scrap buyers do similar things (Either resell components, or use them to make something larger), so prices should be similar.

Hard times are when you can really tell who's who.
