    Ebay, Craigslist, ect.

Or if it is new, shop it around to some shops in your area.

I pulled a truckload of lightbulbs out of the dumpster of a store that closed. I stopped at two hardware stores near me and walked away with $250 for less than a half hour's work.

it will depend on the way it was made (hard drawn or anealed etc..) and the wall thickness.

The schedule is the pressure the pipe is rated to. so water pipes would be lower schedule than say gas pipes (oxygen etc) in a hospital..

What did the neighbour do with them? find that out and that will lead to you to more answers than in the replies you will get here (regarding grade and shedule etc...)

best of luck, and nice haul!!

I'd though a number like $3500-$4000 for the lot and see what happens.

Here is an out of the box idea if you don't get all sold on CL: Go to a privately owned skatepark and see if they'd be interested in them. They use that kinda stuff all the time. Also, if those things cost $100 new, just local skateboarders would be interested in them for $25! When I built my rail when I was 16, it cost me about $120 bucks!

wait what??? you mean as coping for ledges and ramps? this stuff is way too thin and well... regular steel + wax works for that

Kinda sounds like chrome plated tubing, not sure what it would be used for with those dimensions.

    its not chrome plated...

just re-listed it for 3500 on CL and within 15 min someone just called to buy it... seems kinda suspicious though
    1. didnt really ask any questions about the pipe other than how much it weighs
    2. said he was gonna use it to build a shed.... a shed? wtf? although he did say hes gonna use it to store classic cars in it, so idk... huge shed? needs plumbing? what is SS pipe used for anyways?
    3. hasnt tried to bargin down the price or anything...
said hed be here in an hour... hopefully someone will read this by then, but...
since ive never really sold anything worth more than $100 bucks, should i be worried about method of payment? like getting a fake check or something? i doubt hes gonna be 3500 in cash...

the quick response really bothers me cuase i know so many people have set up RSS feeds to get the first metal posted on craigslist and well his only question about the pipe was its weight, so im thinking like possibly hes gonna hand me a fake check and run off with a few hundred pounds of SS

BUT he did sound like an old white guy and im from the city, not the sticks, so old white guys usually tend to be legit.

hmmmm i called him back and he said
    1. hes not on his way, he needs to watch the 49ers game
    2. he found another guy also trying to get rid of a bunch of SS pipe
    3. hes trying to get about 200pieces and only looking to spend 1500, so idk

Im thinking of telling him $2000 for all of it.
    either way its all profit

If he shows up, which 90% of CL respondents don't, you're half way there. Just make sure to get cash. If he doesn't have it on him, tell him directions to the nearest ATM.

Just don't get too greedy or you might lose out on the sale completely.

I agree. That's why I threw out the $3500-4000. They always say they are looking at it cheaper elsewhere. I alwaystell them, if you can get it cheaper buy it. This is my price.

I was selling some body work tools on CL. I guy from Chicago (about an hour from me) said we wanted to buy them for my price of $100. Arranged for him to meet me at my shop. Told him I'd be there from Noon until 9PM. I get a call at 8:30 saying he is on his way and could I wait for him. I told him I'd meet him at the McDonalds down the street. Shows up at 10PM. Says the tools look good, but only wants to pay $80. Said a few choice words, loaded the tools back in my truck and start to leave. He complains that He just came an hour and a half drive and had to get someone to drive him. I told him $120, he just made me waste an hour. Took the $100 when he showed me that was all there was in his wallet. I should have just sent him on his way.
