when it comes to getting shocked from a television that still had a charge. Definitely don't wanna do that again! lol

Now i aint the only one! Bahaha.
Atleast it didnt discharge through yer willy, like it did me. LOL.
Ahahhahhahaahhaahaahahaha!
;?)
this joke never gets old !! lol BTW, how many "nicknames" do ya'll have for that tool ???!!!
More than you can possibly imagine,, But how many times do people have to be warned before they get the idea that high voltage is not fun to screw with. There is just enough milliamps there to stop a heart, and unless there is an EMT available with a defibrillator, you'll be pushing up daisies. Don't want to scare anyone, but it's not worth a single life for a lousy TV set,,,

Ya it definitely freaked me out a little bit when it happened I just said screw it and left the rest of the tv but then I went back and shorted the rest of the charge with a screwdriver and some clamps like y'all suggested. I definitely won't be doing another tv or monitor without shorting it first.
I don't know how bad it bit you but Hoss got stepped back a few feet by the impact of it. I think it liked his fishhook(the one on his hat Dee),,, LOL
Haha ya I saw his story on it and was rolling laughing a few hours before. It really didn't bite too bad, definitely could of been a lot worse. The worst part about it was my arm that I tried to cut the wire with was pretty sore for a while afterwards and it made me stumble a little bit.
that is scary....M688....can you post a picture showing us "slow" people how and what to short out ?!! fishhook ?????!!! lol
I just stuck the screw driver inside the the little suction cup on the glass and then tapped any part that I thought might have a charge on there and that did the trick
gotta make sure to have that grounding strip attached to the screw driver though and make sure it's an insulated screw driver though
Take your time when working around them. Make sure they are dead by one of the many ways of doing so. Alot of great posts on this topic. As one said...a TV is not worth someones life.
I'm still new at this, but I have heard from a couple people to discharge tv's they will open em up and spray water in the case?? Anyone ever heard of or tried this? Idk jus sounded a little odd to me.
Yeah, that was kinda my thought also, I mean if it was to discharge in the water, and you were say standing in some of that water, might as well just grab it bare handed...some of the guys around here just look for the fastest way of everything, unfortunately many of them are scrappers to support a drug habit...what ever they can do for a little quick cash.
I think someone's pulling your leg real hard, you might as well spray water into a light socket, You would not do that ,would you??? WOW!!! Have you ever seen someone throw gas onto a fire and the fire will run back up the gas spray?? Well, high voltage WILL do the same thing but you will not see it coming and if your hands wet, it'll bite you 10X as hard. You will be pushing up daisies. What kind of music do you like at your eulogy?I have heard from a couple people to discharge tv's they will open em up and spray water in the case??
That has got to be the worst advice anyone could have ever given you! They must be pill heads! Meth Heads have way to much time on there hands for such a short cut and Crack Heads would just steal something for the money. Pot heads would just kickback burn one and come up with a better solution!
