Got my first gov't auction today

Almost didn't win when they pushed up against the top that I had set as my highest bid, but luckily they stopped $30 short. The auction had 23 HP Compaq dc5800 Desktops, 21 dc5700 Desktops, 13 dc5100 SFF Desktops, and 9 other misc machines.

I figure the dc5800's can be loaded with Vista for resale - I did order 6 refurbisher copies of Windows 7 today to see if machines loaded up with 7 move quicker. I should be able to double my money or better with the 5800's and then will plan on scrapping out the 5100s and older machines.

Would you load the 5700's up for resale? I'm hoping that they have XP licenses because I still have quite a few people who want working machines that have XP loaded on them.

I'll try and get some pics when I load them up on Friday!

If you have the space, re-purpose all of them! If they have the XP, COA sticker, I have a box full of original XP service pack 2, HP/Compaq disks, that came out of an IT company clean out. Let me know if you can make use of any.

    Good Score!!

Went and picked up the load today, wife stacked em all up nice and pretty for the ride home.

While we were loading up we noticed a Core2Quad label on a few of them...figured we would get them back to the shop and sort everything out so we could take an accounting of what we got...

(Center stack) Lo and behold, we are the winners of 23 DC5800's with Core2Quad 2.33Ghz procs, 2GB Ram and 80gb SATA drives! The stack on the right are mostly DC5700's with Core2Duo (unknown speed yet), 2GB, and 80GB drives as well. The left stack are some Dells we haven't got to formatting yet.

And to finish out our lovely tour, our stack of DC5100's and other misc computers that need scrapped out.

This turned out so much better than expected, everything is in great condition and the quads should sell quick. Me and the wife feel like a pair of lucky ducks today!
