2 months in ... Fresh ideas and Old tricks welcome

Bessst site evvvverrrrr BTW ... Ok this is kind of a double edged sword, i had just started working for a scrap metal yard and I'm always asking the scrappers who come in from the other side of the tracks for pointers ... there guidance is mostly hog wash next thing i know they are shooting up the hill after a quick thank you after helping unload...BASTARDS =) anyway I have a feeling they don't want me moving in on there stomping grounds , rightly so which is why i assure them i live 50 miles away from the work place. That being said i live on the border of the city line and i work in a rural area (big yards, empty lots , farms etc) I don"t have a truck ...yet and i have a hitch but no trailer =( i pick up what i can in the mornings on my way to work there are a couple of spots I've learned of driving round the side streets. I feel like I'm wasting gas , is there a better way what else should i be doing besides driving around looking back and forth and back and forth ???

Just keep doing what you're doing - you'd go there anyway. Save for a pickup; then a trailer and maybe a few tools (grinder and/or sawzall, etc) along the way. Expand your field of operations and maybe do some advertising. Keep reading old threads on here for ideas.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

if its close to home, ride a bike. i have a milk crate attached to the back of mine. i have hauled satellite dishes, vcr's printers, cameras, big 1940s fans, and regualr oscillating fans with it. i dont know what is more amusing, the looks i sometimes get, or sometimes not getting a look at all.

They have trailers that attach to bikes. Not those crappy canvas ones either. Like they're almost 8 x 4 ft trailers. I saw these kids engineer one to fit a moped. I only saw them because I went for a craigslist ad for free aluminum garage door, and these little freaks had it on their trailer and were towing it away on their moped. I was to astounded to be mad.

Depends on State requirements. In Maine, they only need to be licensed unless they're meet certain requirements for Commercial licensing.

If you want an inexpensive trailer, put an add on Craigslist for an old popup camper. I picked one up with a title for $100 and had about 5 others that didnt have a title. You can strip the camper down to the frame and use it to haul scrap.
