    Old 88 BMW track car.

Picked this up tonight. Got it for nothing. He just wanted his driveway back. Not much to it. No motor or trans. Rims are near mint. Tires are good by the looks of em. Has a roll cage the guy says he spent 2500 bucks on it. No idea if its worth taking out... Who else is gonna need a roll cage for an 88 beamer.. Also has a decent suspension system im gonna rip out.

Pic isnt very good... Hate that it gets dark so early.

AWESOME Score! Window trim is all alum Make sure to strip it!

I will give you some seasoned advice on it. ANY salvageable parts- you'll want to save. I stripped a 325e (1987) and apparently the BMW guys are just as anal as the Corvette guys. I would run a CL ad that you are parting this car out before you get it squished. If you have a place to let this one sit- let them come in and scarf parts on it. A guy told me the stupid seat gears were worth $150 a pair, the glass is worth $100 on the windshield- I know with this car being pretty toasted but if you have anything salvageable- I'd try and let them pick off it first. Apparently, as one guy told me "The middle class kids sup up their Hondas.. Upper class kids sup up their 3 series BMW's" Well Poo Poo.. but hey- $$ is $$, whether from a scrap yard or an "Upper Class kid" BAM!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

You might consider listing it on some Demolition derby sites. It should get better than scrap with the cage.

I didnt get an ownsership. The yards dont require one here if its strippes. so that may pose an issue at the border.

Its not bad. The Big main Laws are the same obviously. Traffic laws are the same. Just other stuff like gun laws are different. Probly similar to the us though. The best though, you get sick or break your arm and need surgery, you dont pay a cent. Medication you need to pay for though if your sick, etc. Anything you get in the hospital, free.

Taxes in ontario are terrible. 13% sales tax on almost everything. Licencing is BS and a pain in the butt. All booze sold in ontario is sold at eithet "The Beer Store" or "LCBO" (liquor control board of ontario)

Win the lottery? Or any kind of money? Keep it all. Non taxable.

Those are some big differences i can think of. LOTS of snow where i am. Not so much the last two years tho... We got a foot and a half one night. Good thing i had the dodge that day...

Not everyones nice and polite. Just had some old man at the shop threaten my bro today "Ill nail you to the ground. Dont think i wont do it" he was dead serious. Lots of A holes here.

Gets to over 100 degrees in the summer. Its still in the 70s the last few days. Lots of people in southern ontario. Gets better north lol i dunno man any qurstions feel free to ask. What the whole deal down there anyways? Havent hears much.

Ps DONT MOVE NEAR ME LOL i already have enough competition!!! Hahaha

Your higher sales taxes and other taxes are bank rolling the healthcare...your kidding yourself if you think it's free. It will be the same here before long.

The rest of the country has free health care and taxes are MUCH lower elsewhere. But Hell ill take the 13% for free health care anyday. Its already saved me thousands upon thousands of dollars and lots of aggrivation. and im only 22. One of the reasons our taxes are so high is because we are the highest populated province in the country.

Canada has its warts--they are just different warts from the US warts. The gun laws here seem to be one heck of lot more restrictive, at least for pistol ownership. The gov't wonks have a rectal hemmorage if you want permission to carry a pistol in the bush--if you're a prospector or something, and they have an atomic hissey fit if you even breathe concealed carry...that's not even talked about around here. Unless you're a government spy or something. Diff't law for the gov't.

Jord0, BC sales tax is 7% PST and 5%GST for a 12% total. Is your 13% made up the same way?

    Jon.
