If you are near the Lake Highlands area of Dallas and have #1 Copper pipe or large gauge wire, yellow brass, or heavy aluminum (no cans or thin sheet) for sale, send me a PM or email. If you are willing to meet in the Lake Highlands area, I'll pay 10% over whatever the going rate is on websites such as
https://www.cmcrecycling.com/locatio...as/dallassouth. I am not affiliated with them in the least. This is just an example site. I am active duty Army and my 10 year old son and I do metal casting projects and own a small 10kg hobby foundry. Because my furnace is so small, I need the material to be compact and as dense as possible. (hence, no cans, thin wires, thin sheet)
When I've contacted scrap yards to buy metal from them, they want 2-3X the current price in order to sell to me.
All transactions will take place in the parking lot of the Lake Highlands division of the Dallas Police Department to ensure safe and proper transactions for everyone involved.
I would like to establish good long-term working relationships with any scrappers in the area that are willing to deliver a quality product in reasonable amounts. I'd like to keep any amount I buy over 50lbs just to make sure its worth everyone's effort.
If I'm totally off base with this post, please bear with me. I'm not a scrapper, scrap metal dealer, nor do I have anything to do with the industry. I'm just a Dad that wants to keep my son's face out of his ipad and he's found that the forge/furnace is a pretty cool place to spend time with his old man!
Thank you very much for your time.
