Chevy Astro van.. It had a good hard and SOLID run!

Snagged a 1992 Chevy Astro van on Friday. It ran.. but not very well. During it's gutting process I cut out the gauge cluster to get to the harness in the dash.. looked at the milage... 307,000+ Miles.. Good ol Chevy baby!

I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I had one with 200K+ but I killed because I failed to add oil, minor oil leak and a long drive. They were very well built vans. Mike.

Mike- This van had virtually no oil in it, and the coolant was nothing but water.. When I got to the guys house- he had it jumped and running. The exhaust was gone from the cat back, and even though it sputtered- the dang thing just kept on running. It was tired, when I showed up the van whispered to me in a creeky voice "Young man.. have you come to take me on my last ride?" I patted his bumper and said "Yes old fella.. I'll gently send you back to the great manufacturer in the sky"
    HA!

300K is really impressive. Those Chevy 4.3s run forever with just a little maintenance. Im a Ford guy but you cant deny the 90s GM V6 and large V8. I use to own a 92 Pontiac Trans Sport (The Dust Buster) with the 3.1 V6. No exhaust, started MOST of the time, no power steering, windows worked sometimes, and the oil pump worked when it felt like it. **** thing died with over 280,000 miles on it.
