Don't let this forum die. Post anything - You might actually be helping somebody

There are several intros saying this is what theyd been looking for and I agree. But now it needs content to attract more members and keep them coming back. As with most sites like this, there will be people wide wide varieties of experiences - from the guy who has never been to a scrap yard (but thinks this might be some good, quick cash) to the to guy to has owned a multi-million dollar recycling yard for 30 years. But each can learn from the other. The main thing is not to ask or offer an opinion for fear of appearing dumb. I belong to another forum as an industry beginner and felt really stupid asking what an acronym meant. Come to find out, an industry leader of 20-some years had used it often, but admitted he didnt know what it meant, either. A product manufacturer finally told what it meant.

The most common question is going to be how to get started or expand. Hopefully, over the years this will get asked 15-50 times a year and the old guys will get tired of answering it. So dont - let the younger ones take over. In the other industry, I learned more by answering than I did by asking in the beginning.

Id even suggest to the site owner - start a section of something like Tips of the Trade.

We started our business in January 2010. We are trying to get our name out there and get known and it is hard but if you can get that far its well worth it. We love scrapping and wouldnt change our profession for the world! We just get so tired of the guys that are doing it the wrong way and stealing copper and stuff. It really gets under our skin!! I wish there were more people out there like all the people on this site!
