apparently it's a near match for the x3650 http://projectdream.org/wordpress/20...r-hp-dl380-g5/ That guy alex something? was here the other day had one of the 3650s
I would say $10/each would be fair but not sure if that would get it done......

from that forum was taking place about 2007, but doesn't say anything about size and weight of the frame, unless it's down in those comments somewhere. It could have several server boxes, and any number of raid arrays. There's really no substitution for actually seeing it.
thx it looks like we are in at the right price, now just gotta wait 2 months for the vetting process and paperwork thanks all.
Good Luck and like I said I'm close to Nashville and would love to be involved in some capacity
those 380s have a m5,m6,m7, that i saw, there's likely an m2,3,and4 as well, only way to know what's there is either inspect it or have someone you've dealt with there tell you from up close exactly what it's got
what is an m3,m4 etc. cant inspect them there are over 6000 of them. looks like we won the bid but they are also going to make us haul off all their com cables. main power cables #6 copper. flat screen monitore etc . oh also the racks they are mounted in.
6000 servers?? the m# things are series numbers. If you sell the memory on ebay you'll multiply your money by a good bit no doubt. Might be able to turn a number of the CPUs there as well, and maybe a few parts sales like motherboards and power supplies. Hard drive RAID arrays (with or without HDDs) might sell as add'l storage to places who still use them and only want some extra expansion capabilities
Those racks may be your biggest problem, even empty they still can weigh several hundred pounds
once more; they want you to buy 6000 mainframe servers sight unseen??

Yeah if your talking mainframe server racks your in for a heap of weight olddude. One of those server racks full can weigh over 1000 pounds. 6000 of them babies would keep you busy for months.
they say it will take about 3 years to replace all 6000 servers so we are looking at about 4 pallets every 2 months. we are paying for the servers and hard drives only. all the racks, monitors, cables and perifials we are taking at no charge as a service.
dang man, lotsa luck! i hope it works out for ya
