I'm working on a handmade forge. I just got a good size break drum on Saturday while dumping some scrap off at the yard. I will update this thread with pics of the build.

If anybody has been thinking about trying this built from off of you tube it is very easy. I got a total of $60 in it. I got the brake drum and turkey fryer base from the scrap yard and all the galvanized pipe fittings from home depot. I plan on using a hair dryer with a rubber coupling and charcoal. I will post more pictures after I try it out this weekend.
Very nice! I love seeing how everyone puts their forges together.
Just finishing up a video of how I make my charcoal, should have it up tomorrow. Made mine out of all scraps, with an adjustable fire pot. Did you line the inside of your pot?
Wish I had some better pictures of mine - are you keeping yours for outdoor use only? I'd recommend doing a first test burn without being too near it to flash off the galvanized coating.
