    "ICs, Eproms, & Tantalum Cap.s"

    So I have recently become aware that these are 3 more things I should be carefully pulling from boards and saving up.

    Any tips on identifying them? I've Google searched images of them, but there appears to be a variety of each. I see these things all over the place, are they really that common on all boards?

    ICs, are these pretty much all black rectangles with the aluminum legs? Or are these the eproms?

    Tantalums, I'm seeing the yellow/orange & black rectangles with a voltage measurement printed on it, but also the small circles, sticking off of the board by 2 legs? These are all tantalum capacitors?

    Thank you for the help. If you can link some photos it would be very appreciated. Visual learning and whatnot.

    You said you searched google. Did you do a forum search? Cause there are a few threads on all of those.

    At lest two buyer threads with plenty of info on tantalum. Etack an Tantalumrecycling I believe.

    I know the eprom info is on here as I was just browsing the threads the other day to do some research on several lovely ones i have.

    So..yea what Junk said.

    Trying to answer the original comment. I usually refer to IC's as;

    I would use Google as they have quite a few different pic's of eproms;

    As for Tantalum Cap's then check out the main buyers as they have plenty of pictures.
