Selling my scrap RAM on ebay for more than scrap value

So I just sold 4 Oz. of laptop RAM for $4.00 and charged shipping of $3.99. for a total of $7.99. After fees and shipping I made $4.86.
I did the math (witch isn't my strong point) and came up with $1.21 an Oz. or $16.48 a pound if I sold 4 of these auctions.
I just wanted to get over current scrap price and dodge my shipping fee when I send it out.
What are your thoughts and is my math right? The time it took to list this auction was maybe 5 or 10 minutes but I saved the draft so the mext one would be maybe 4 clicks.

That's good that you made well on ebay. Now the dilemma isn't making money doing this it is making money that is worth your time to do so. I wish you luck in exactly that.

Since your shipping cost is the same to ship across the street as across the country
I would add the start price and shipping together
For a new start price of $7.99 with FREE shipping
Seems ebay Buyers LOVE FREE shipping

$7.99-3.99=$4. Where did the other $.86 come from, after shipping and eBay/PayPal fees?

Just because I charged $3.99 shipping with eBay's discount it only cost me $2.60 to actually ship plus fees of .53. Really all I cared about was not getting charged shipping and ebay/paypal fees. If I made a little over $14.25 great. Normally all my prices would be charged $0.70 to $.80 per pound with FedEx. I wish I had the volume and space to use Gorven.
