how to separate carbide from base metal

I was wondering if any of you metal guru's could give some opinions on how to remove the carbide cutting edge from the base head of shaper and moulder heads like these:

I've been looking into this, and I believe they a silver brazed together ( I may be misunderstanding the process ). Using a torch works good on sawblades, but that's a lot of fuel to heat up a big chunk of metal hot enough to remove the carbide.

Thanks. I was thinking of heating them up in a hot fire. If nothing else it would preheat them and save some acetylene.
