Im tearing down aluminum barn

Im tearing down a 60'x100' aluminum sided barn. This barn is covered with 2'x8' corrugated aluminum. Is this aluminum worth much? Would it be worth it for me to tear down and take to yard , never been a scraper before, or should i hire a company to do this? if it makes me a lot more money would really like to do myself. Next question is where is the best place to take this stuff? Are all yard the same? Honest?. Maybe i will like this stuff and become a scrapper too!!

Sell the siding on CL its been posted here before but he sold it way beyond scrap price and sold like hot cakes.

I once had all the aluminum siding removed from the large buildings used to dry hops, my advice is to sell it as scrap. Anyone who has used aluminum seting in the past only does this trip once.

With hot and cold weather the aluminum sheet has a tendency to expand and contract elongating the nail holes once this happens even the slightest windstorm will remove the sheets blowing them into your neighbors yard.

Any sheets still attached come of easy using a long handled shovel to work your way under the sheet then pry up. The head of the spade has the right angle which makes it the perfect tool.

Aluminum is around .60 a lb. Is it for sure aluminum? I've seen tin that looks similar. Tin is all over the place right now. You might get 7 to 12 cents a lb.

If you haven't already, grab a magnet, it will quickly become your best friend. I took some stuff to auction yesterday. One of the items I was looking to get rid of was a night video drop. Paint was chipped off a corner and it looked like aluminum. Guy says "just scrap that...it's aluminum, and it's around $3 a lb right now".

I nearly fell over that he actually thinks aluminum is around $3/lb. Anyways I whipped out my magnet and it stuck. He mumbled something and we completed our transaction.

We took down a 40 by 100 steel barn.(wood frame) we made 700 but that was last fall when the prices were really high!
