    New to the business.

How would I get started scrapping wood pallets? I see some people doing it. Any help would be welcomed.

That would be a great question for the scrap wood forum.

Here's a link to a thread on pallets.

The search function does work but no well for everything. I think the thread will be helpful, Mike.

You get started by finding out the actual demand for them, then you start digging up the supply (cheap-free) and have a place to stockpile/repair. Get your business cards/flyers and start meeting people/businesses to get the interest started. Not gonna happen overnite, you have to grow that business. We've talked about it a few times and the prices are all over the place, so you'll have to talk to someone in the business to get an idea of selling prices in your area.

You need to find a place in your area that buys old pallets and talk to them as to how much they pay and what condition they want them to be. Then go around to busnesses that throw away pallets and collect them up and bring them to the buyer. In my area they go for 1.00-4.00. It's like metals, you have a buyer (scrap yard) you collect metal that people are throwing away and bring it to the scrap yard to sell.
