business call questions

Hi,

I'm writing a phone script. The goal of this is to ask scrap yards how much they are selling their wares to mills/overseas buyers/etc.
I get a gut feeling that due to the several types of metals, nobody is going to spend 10 minutes listing their prices,their grades etc on the phone so I'm just going to ask them to send me an excel sheet with the info.



If anyone has advice,I'd appreciate it.

I was trying to keep it nice??? That's some privileged info there and unless you can buy the info then no one is going to be turning loose of it.

lol Mechanic, you did say it nicely. Parrothead was saying jabright is gonna get an earful when he calls yards and asks this information, and they may not state it as nicely as you've done.

You would be surprised at the amount of sensitive info a business owner can give a to a clever salesman...

Good luck with that. I don't care what type of sales person you are its not gonna happen. Now if you offer them more money then they are going to make this month you MIGHT get what you want but it will all change the next month

That was unfortunate. If he couldn't handle the replies here, he really won't like the replies he gets when he calls on scrap yards and wants their information.

I do wish him best of luck though.
