pissed off and need to find new scrap ard

so I went to the scrap yard today with a suv load about 700 lbs .same as I do every month .been going to this yard for about 2 years now . so I get there and im waiting 20 in at the scale not a soul in sight.so I beep my horn and I guy down in the yard comes out and flips me the bird. so im sitting there at least another 10 min and finally the scale guy comes out and I simply say " yall must be busy today I have been sitting here for over 30 min". he looks at me and says " well if 30 min is too long for you to wait then we don't want you scrap . why don't you get the **** outa here.so as im pulling away he is behind the window calling me a ****ing *******. yelling it because my windows are still down.
I mean wtf . is any1 here gonna tell me if they were sitting on the scale for 30 min they wouldn't be a lil pissed.
I mean what ever happened to customer service

pissed off and need to find new scrap ard

had similar thing yesterday. I was rudely told they don't compete with yards on price. I was told wait below fence here in Lewiston. then weighted out 540 lbs and it was mixed steel and tin made $38.00.
then when I asked nicely to explain the calculations to me. I got massive attitude ny two guys. it was like they were doing me a favor by giving 07 cents lb. then when a piece of copper feel out into the mixed pile I was unloading myself. the guy watching jumped on it and took it for himself. without asking me. they suck. and they're closest yard to me.

Had this happen once taking a car in. Sat on the scale for 15 mins while the yard guy helped unload some dudes truck. So i get out and ask what the hells goin on and he blows up. Happened once and i made sure it didnt happen again. I dont care how crappy or stressful your job is, if im paying you, whether it be money or in materials, you will treat me with respect. I didnt do anything to deserve what i got. Even if i did, ya still just dont do it!

In the end the guy still has his job and every time i go, i get "heeey! how are ya today!!"
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Customer service is a bad word in today's world. So is respecting your customer, an their money, or in this case their material they bring.

I find it highly amusing. If you can't master the art of Customer Service, you should give up your store/yard/etc. It's a simple feat to accomplish. it really is. As it was said over in BC's thread.."Treat others how you'd want to be treated." Every business should have this on every wall of their building. A little respect and good customer service go a long way. An if you gotta be a jerk, lest learn to do it with a smile. It's not a hard thing to master. I know this! I mastered it long ago after working many years for toys r us. LOL.

Ah well..hope the new yard treats you better then the old one.

fortunately around here everyone wants your business and treats people fairly well. Most have dedicated scale guys so you rarely wait unless you hit them at lunch. The big yard actually has 2 scales, one to weigh in and one to weigh out.

That's bull****. I would not put up with that kind of attitude. Nobody has any respect for anyone these days. Luckily in my area we have three yards within about 10 miles of each other. They no that if they don't have good service you can drive an extra few miles and get it. The main yard I go to has a few girls working the office that run the scale and pay out window. Then the guys in the yard. So at least they have both areas staffed to better serve the customers.

In a lot of cases it is an underpaid worker working in miserable conditions (hot-cold-dirty) for an uncaring boss, we see that a lot.

Rob I'd say its time to get on Angie's List and yellow pages and give them a bad review. That's some bull and it deserves that.
