dirty IAC truck part/sensor - how to clean?

2000 ford ranger 2.5L (yes i haul with this, lol) manual transmission
I have a dirty IAC sensor that has been causing my engine to rev when my foot is off the gas pedal
I bought some "QD electornic cleaner" - "CRC" brand -is this the correct product to clean the part?

The can of spray was nine dollars for something ill probably only ever spray once so id like to not have to use it if possible. I also heard any spray that does not leave residue is fine for cleaning this product, can someone recommend some household product i probably already have that i could use to clean this? Someone said Brake cleaner but i do not have any. another person recommended alcohol, would this work?

I just use strong carb cleaner on the IAC motors. they get carbon'd up like TBI's...cheaper than the electronic cleaner I typically use for MAF's which are more sensitive...
