    Child labor (cute, not creepy)

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

My kids (age 13, 10) helped me scrap today, they each took apart a wireless keyboard, and they had a blast! They are going to use the keys they popped off to make jewelry, and I paid them $1 each for their time. They will use their money to pay for books from the school book fair. If they stay interested in deconstructing things, I will see how they do taking apart PCs. I've already started setting up a new home office for e-scrap processing: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet All those shelves are already full of scrap items and tools.

There seriously is nothing cuter than watching my daughter help me scrap. She grabs her little tools and goes to town. She's done the keyboards on two occasions and its just a hoot. I've said this many times on here but since the age of 6 my daughter knew the expression "Metal Equals Money" Hopefully she'll be way smarter than me and never have to put it in practice but she knows how to make money with it.

Tonight I taught my kids how to disassemble a CRT TV, being very careful removing parts, and the importance of disposing of the leaded glass properly. My daughter is 13 and old enough to actually do it under direct supervision, but my son is only 10, and he is relegated to case screw duty..but he loves helping! (Pic is of LCD dis-assembly, project atm)
