    What am I doing wrong????

I have sold locally before, but for some reason I am having a hard time getting local buyers to return my calls, texts, and or emails. The stuff that makes sense to ship I do with no problems, but stuff I am tyring to get better than scrap yard pricing I am having a hard time selling. For me, that's mid-grade and high grade boards, power supplies, clean heat sinks, gold connectors, various other types of boards, and other things that people advertise they buy at better than a scrap yard price. I reach out to these folks, describe what I have, let them know I will drive it their door, but I cannot get a call back. I am even willing to sell some stuff at a little lower price(like MOBO's) to make it worth the buyers time. One buyer even said yes to a date, promised pricing, and I never could get a hold of him again. This has actually happened more than once. I am very frustrated. I have a decent amount of stuff to sell, and now no where to sell but a scrap yard. I enjoy doing this, but if all I can sell is to a scrap yard, then it just does not make sense(or dollars!!). Since I had sold locally before, I have been saving up stuff to sell again. Maybe I just do not have the stuff buyers want, but in that case do not advertise you buy. I think I could except this if people would at least respond to me and tell me they were not intersted instead of not hearing back at all, then I could move on. I am not intertested in bashing anyone, but if anyone has any advice, I would love to hear it. In addition, anyone know of any buyers that are somewhat local to me(Charlotte, NC), I would appreciate. Looking probably as far south as Columbia, SC, west to Winston-Salem, and north to Raleigh. really anything within 150 miles I could make work. As I had a date initailly set with a buyer who I now can not get a response from, I have Friday Sept. 25th open to deliver. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You

If you get no call back then move on. If they really wanted the item they would be in touch with you. When using craigslist or local yard sale sites, unfortunately, no shows and no call backs are expected.

I am not using any buyers from Craigs List, but ones who I have contatced through this forum, that is what is so frustrating.

The market dropped and is now extremely volatile. Many small timers are crashing and burning right now. If you can't find local buyers that pay 50 cents per pound less than the big buyer on this forum, then just start shipping 69# boxes to him using his prepaid fedex labels.

The above is right. With Gold prices being manipulated by the Banksters with paper Gold it is hard for me to buy and refine. loss or small profit right now, you might think of sending a pallet 300 lbs. if you have a freight dock near you. I have near 8000 lbs of HD and power supplies and about 100 working dell complexes and no shipping dock within 60 miles.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

The market volatility has a lot to do with it- especially for parts that aren't used in refurbishing. Prices are crashing, and a lot of the smaller buyers don't know what to do, so basic instinct sometimes says to do nothing.

That's not good, but what can you do? For me, that would involve sending boxes or a pallet off to the larger buyers with the stuff that won't be used in refurbishing to get whatever you can....
